Katherine O Freeman, RN

I am nominating Katie Freeman for the DAISY award because she provided truly exceptional, compassionate care while I was in the hospital. From the moment she introduced herself in my room, she was attentive and genuinely caring. Even though she was extremely busy, she listened to my concerns and made sure I was comfortable and pain-free given the severity of my illness. One small moment showed how thoughtful she was: I was struggling to put my hair up in a ponytail because of my I.V., Katie noticed this when she dropped in to check on me and offered to do it for me. That simple act made me feel respected as a person, not just a patient. Her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond made a stressful time much easier to bear. Katie’s actions exemplify the compassion and skill this award recognizes. I am deeply grateful for her care and strongly believe she deserves to be honored with the DAISY Award.
