My father recently had to have a second surgery on his back to clean out an infection and fluid collection that built up. During this procedure, my father stopped breathing and surgery was quickly halted. The result of this left my father intubated and on a vent to help him breathe. The thought of this was too overwhelming and the first night I went to see him in this condition I was in tears.
Just when I thought his care couldn't be any better we met Kathy who was his day nurse for 3 days. Kathy wowed me in so many ways. She made my family feel comfortable and made us feel at ease in the situation. She was also very informative and had an amazing personality. Sometimes we had questions I'm sure seemed silly but she took the time and gave us the answers without hesitation or judgment. Kathy deserves so much credit for what she does. She gave me such appreciation for nurses. Without question, I know she puts that same effort day in and day out. CentraState is lucky to have such a fantastic individual. I am truly grateful for her care with my father.
