Katie cares for her patients with the utmost compassion. Due to the nature of our work, our patients are often in very difficult social situations (new cancer diagnosis with no family support, bed bound, etc.), and Katie goes above and beyond to ensure the patient receives the high level of care that they deserve. She establishes a fantastic rapport with not only her patients but their family who know they can call her for advice when needed. Her clinical skills and knowledge are a credit to her profession. She is highly observant, picking up on details that help facilitate an individualized care plan - titrating medications, organising further investigations, and liaising with colleagues from other specialties where needed. She supports her colleagues, ensuring we have a well-functioning team. She organises teaching events and is always a member we can rely on. In her interview some years ago, Katie mentioned how she would uphold the values of Homerton. She has definitely shown that she is respectful, safe, and inclusive in all she does. She is responsible, and her personal approach to all staff and patients means she is a truly loved member of the team.
