My wife went into labour in the morning and due to complications, we were allocated a midwife for the entirety of the labour and delivery. Katherine Jones was that midwife and we couldn’t have hoped for a more professional, empathetic, and genuinely lovely person to help us through such an extraordinary experience at such a weird time in history. Not only was she an absolute emotional rock for us both but she clearly loves her career and is extremely good at it. We will never fully be able to convey our thanks to Katherine and it fills me with hope and reassurance that people like her are present within the NHS, a true angel. I hope she is cherished within the organization. Below are a few reasons why we thought Katherine was so great.

This list is obviously not exhaustive: - Expert knowledge in her medical field; - Decisive decision making when required; - Dedicated, hardly took any breaks and stayed longer than her shift permitted; - Genuinely friendly and was clearly interested in you as a person; - Excellent with people; - Clearly compassionate. Whilst we really appreciated a lot of the staff we came in contact with, Katherine really impacted our lives. We will never forget her and what she did for us.
