Our mother passed away. I am a pediatric ED RN in my 38th year of practice. Over the past many years, I have seen a decline in the level of empathy, love, and compassion in our profession and it saddens me. But our mother had wonderful, loving, compassionate, and very competent care while she was in your ICU. Tori and Kat were amazing!
It was so refreshing to me to see these two young nurses truly caring for our mom. They cared for her with empathy, love, professionalism, patience, and compassion. They were never rushed; they answered all of our questions, were patient with our sometimes overwhelming family, all the while making our mom comfortable at the end of her life.
These two nurses make me proud of our profession and made this very difficult time more bearable for me. You should be very proud of these nurses.
