Today, my 11-year-old son had a procedure. Katie took lots of her time to get to know my son. She was always focused on his needs. She continued by giving him simple choices of "good" stuff or "bad" stuff first (IV or monitors). She clearly explained the procedure, the people he will meet once he leaves his mama, what the next room will look like, and all equipment used. She was always making sure he didn't have any questions, followed up with every move she made. She made me aware of all that was going to take place, now, during, and after. Katie informed us of information she did not have to. She was available for questions after the doctor talked to us, even though she had already prepared us for everything he said.
Kate is an outstanding nurse! She is kind, caring, informative, and always looking out for her patients. My son loved her!
