All I can say is that Kate took over my mother’s care and she did an excellent job! Mom’s blood pressure was dangerously low, and she immediately went into action. She advocated for my mother with the residents all night long. She requested albumin infusion among other consults. She even consulted with the critical care outreach nurse who confirmed her recommendation to administer albumin. Although the residents did not listen to her, she went out of her way to check in on my mom every 30 minutes, checking her blood pressure and informing the residents. When her nurse manager arrived, she immediately advocated again for my mother, and finally, mom was transitioned to ICU where they gave her albumin, and right now, things are headed in the right direction. All I can say is Kate and the extern partnered together and went above and beyond. They were generous with their time, compassionate, and gracious, every step of the way. Kate is an exemplary nurse and led by example- I am confident this was a great learning experience for the extern. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work! Really appreciate everything you did for us while my mom was under your care!
