Kathleen went above and beyond to take care of the patient’s physical and emotional needs as well as support the patient's partner.
Kathleen is the prime example of what a great nurse looks like. She pours her heart and soul into caring for each and every one of her patients, be it the best day of their lives or the worst. I’ve witnessed her bedside manner and the way she talks to her patients makes you forget that she’s talking to a patient and not a loving family member or close friend. She is genuine, selfless, and empathetic, and her bubbly presence is felt by both her patients and colleagues alike.
Recently, she took care of a patient who needed an urgent c-section and unfortunately suffered a neonatal demise. While I was not present for the delivery, I heard multiple nurses and doctors speak of her empathy and strength during such a difficult situation. Kathleen went above and beyond to take care of the patient’s physical and emotional needs as well as support the patient's partner. She is more than a great nurse, she is the greatest nurse, and I am so lucky to call her my coworker.
