She is a blessing! An Angel in disguise! We are beyond grateful for Kathleen’s involvement in our baby’s care.
My son has been in the NICU for a little over a month. He was born at 27 weeks. Nurse Kathleen has been a blessing not only to our son but to my husband and I. She goes above and beyond not just for our son but provides a listening ear for us as parents going through a stressful and challenging time. She studies our son and knows his behaviors and looks for ways to make him feel comfortable during his stay.
Our son has had some issues with tolerating feeds but when he is with her he has less spit-ups because she knows what works for his digestion (raised head, on his side, or his favorite, laying on his tummy). She has taught my husband and me the importance of preemies babies feeling secure (in their incubator) which reminds them of the womb. She provides excellent care and when she is assigned to work with him I have peace because I have observed the compassionate and gentle care she provides to him. I believe she treats our baby like he is her own.
My husband refers to her as “auntie” and we’ve requested for her to be assigned to work with our son anytime she is on shift if possible. She is a blessing! An Angel in disguise! We are beyond grateful for Kathleen’s involvement in our baby’s care. We will never forget the support and care she has provided to our family.
