I have been working a lot of hours on the 8th floor and working with Katie. I am a float nurse with Healthtrust. I float to many different areas and work with a lot of great nurses but Katie is by far the greatest nurse out of all. She never says "no" or "I don't have time right now." She goes above and beyond her duties whether as a charge nurse or doing floor nursing and taking care of her own patients. She will always stop and help you, answer questions, give you an extra hand, or just takes it upon herself and just does things for you without questioning you.
Katie always makes you feel welcome whether it's your first time to the department or your 100th time.
I have seen and heard her talking to patients and she is never in a hurry - when you know she has many things of her own to do! She has great people skills and takes the time no matter what. She is such an asset to the 8th floor and all her co-workers!
It is always a joy to work with her and I look forward to many more nights when she is either charge or on the floor.
