There was a patient that needed an emergency C section. This was unexpected and the patient was very scared. Kathy came into the OR to see how she could help and saw how frightened the patient was and she stayed with the patient,talking with her,letting her know what was happening. This made a huge difference for this patient because it was an emergency and her husband wasn't allowed into the OR. Kathy assumed this role without being asked. With this simple gesture, her calm,caring presence, made a huge difference to this very scared patient.
