Kathy completed all of the routine vital signs and questions that they asked at the appointment. I explained that I had been having some discomfort in my right leg. It was swollen and hot to the touch. I also explained that the condition had been going on for about a week and that I had seen my orthopedic doctor about the condition. The doctor ordered some blood work which I completed. At this time, I was waiting for a follow-up from the doctor on the blood work. After completing the injection, Kathy explained she was concerned for me. The condition was not normal, and she said I should go immediately to the Emergency Room and have myself evaluated. The condition was serious. She explained a few possible conditions that must be taken care of immediately. I took her advice and went to the Emergency Room. After testing in the ER, the doctors found three blood clots in my leg. I was admitted and started treatment. The next day, while in the hospital, Kathy called me on my cell phone to check on my condition, and I explained I was in the hospital receiving care. We had a nice call, and I thanked her for her advice and for saving me from possible serious complications from the condition.
