She took a lot of time talking with us and reassuring us. She even came back that night with Mom’s doctor to talk to us again.
After a weeklong stay at the hospital with my mother, things were very confusing as to what approach was to take place on identifying what was wrong with mom.

Finally, she had a colonoscopy, which showed colon cancer. Due to her age, surgery wasn’t an option. We were all devastated. After finally getting a diagnosis, I kept asking when she would get something to eat. She was on a liquid diet for the entire time and hadn’t really eaten or drank anything from her tray for the whole time she was at the hospital. When I went to ask at the nurse’s station I was told she was having surgery the next day. I was in shock and kept saying, no she isn’t, and I was scared. That is when Kathleen came along; she reassured us she did not have to have the surgery and explained options and right away started an IV for nourishment. She took a lot of time talking with us and reassuring us. She even came back that night with Mom’s doctor to talk to us again. The next day, she was back to check on us after we talked with hospice. She calmed us, reassured us, answered all our questions, and was so kind to our entire family. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts.
