Kathleen Hulgan, RN
I am recognizing Kathleen Hulgan for the extraordinary care she provided following my gallbladder surgery.
From the moment I began preparing for discharge, her passion for nursing was evident. She didn't simply hand me a stack of papers. Instead, she sat down with me and carefully reviewed every detail of my post-surgical care. Her thoroughness was incredible. She anticipated every question I had about pain management, activity restrictions, and recovery, ensuring I felt completely prepared to return home.
You could truly feel that she loved her patients and was genuinely dedicated to my well-being. Because of her attentiveness and expertise, I left the hospital feeling supported, informed, and confident in my recovery.
As the daughter of a nurse, I grew up seeing firsthand the dedication and heart it takes to do this job well. Because of my mother's career, I have a high standard for what exceptional nursing looks like, and Kathleen exceeded it in every way.
She didn't simply go through the motions. She shared her knowledge with a passion that made me feel like a person, not just a patient. I recognized the "nurse's heart" in her immediately, and I know my mother would have been honored to work alongside someone of her caliber.
Kathleen is a tremendous credit to the nursing profession and is truly deserving of the DAISY Award.
