Kathleen Joy Elesterio, BSN, RN
Kathleen consistently demonstrates exceptional leadership skills that inspire and motivate our nursing team. Her ability to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment has created a culture of excellence where every team member feels valued and empowered to perform at their best. She is always supporting each one of us to improve and achieve higher goals both personally and professionally.
She has a remarkable ability to guide the team to innovate and implement new practices that improve patient outcomes and enhance efficiency within our unit. Her forward-thinking approach has led to the implementation of several initiatives that have positively impacted both our teamwork and the patients we care for.
She is always visible, always around us, always with us. If any of us makes an error, she is the first person we inform because we know she will never blame us; it will be a lesson learned. We don't feel afraid to report an incident, but we are always afraid of upsetting her.
We share our ideas and plans with her to improve our workplace. She gives everyone an equal chance to participate in our mini committees. She always prioritizes our patients' needs and ensures they receive the highest quality of care possible.
She always advocates for us with doctors, pharmacists, the quality team, the risk management team, and all ASH teams. She makes sure that all our unit staff is part of the group, including our clerk, UAPs, PCTs, CNs, and primary nurses.
I am continually impressed by her leadership style, which is characterized by compassion, integrity, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others. She has played an instrumental role in shaping the professional growth and development of our nursing staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and support every step of the way.
She is friend, a colleague and a true leader. She is kind, professional, fair, and firm when needed. She appreciates the efforts of all the team members and praises our hard work in front of everyone.
