Kathleen (Kathy) was my husband's nurse for two shifts while he was in the SICU. She was absolutely wonderful, managing all of his needs (as he was critically ill) along with staying positive for my sake. She was on shift the day that I was told he would not survive. She was extremely compassionate to me as I had to make the call as to when to discontinue the ventilator and medications he was on. During the whole process of shutting down the life support, she was professional, gentle, and caring. She did everything she could to make him as presentable as she could for myself and our family to say goodbye.
