Kathleen Olsen, RN

Kathleen is always a pillar of support for the Pediatrics team. However, her dedication and hard work in getting one of our long-term PICU patients home went above and beyond the call of duty. Getting this child home to her parents required coordinating a myriad of things - medical supplies, training of parents, follow-up plans, and Kathleen worked tirelessly for weeks to make it happen.

Kathleen stayed late trying to get in touch with different services. She checked and double-checked all the details to make sure our patient landed at home safely. As a result of her compassion and grit, one very happy little girl is able to enjoy life at home with her family instead of living in a chronic care facility. Kathleen exemplifies nursing excellence! - she really cares, get the impossible done! and does it with all smile, making it all seem easy to the rest of the team.
