Kathy really stood out to me because she seemed like she really cared about me as her patient and that made me feel a connection with someone. This is what I need when I am detoxing from the drugs that used to be my best friends. She always comes very fast when I need someone, which can mean she stops what she is doing and puts my needs first. That is a sign of a truly compassionate nurse. She doesn't treat her job like a daily grind, she treats it like a hobby with passion. She takes a few minutes to talk to me when I need someone and I've overheard her doing the exact same thing with other patients. Kathy really brings a glow to GSAM and the detox unit feels homier with her there. She has impacted my stay in a way that only she can, she is extremely competent in nursing and that's one of the biggest most important things in any job. Kathy is remarkable and radiant.
