Kathy was recognized for her selfless commitment and compassionate care on behalf of patients, and her commitment of time and energy to help coworkers. She has distinguished herself as a leader and a mentor on her unit. Kathy was with her critically ill father when a STAT C-section was called and an overhead announcement summoned the pediatric hospitalist. Although not on duty, she knew what the announcement meant and her years of experience kicked in. She left her father's bedside to assist in a time of critical need on the OB floor. In doing so, Kathy was not able to be with her father when he passed away.
