Kate is a CRNP working with the surgery team throughout the hospital. She goes above and beyond in providing patient care every day while supporting the needs of the nursing staff. She goes out of her way multiple times a day to text, call, or talk to the nursing staff to update them on plans of care, talk about any concerns they may have.

On one particular day, she helped to ambulate a patient to the bathroom, which was a HUGE help for the staff in the unit. Kate also goes out of her way to ensure nurses know that they are doing a good job and encourage everyone to get through the day, telling them directly or telling their manager. She consistently goes out of her way to support the highest standard of surgical care to our patients.

Kate is a patient advocate and has superb communication skills. Recently she went out of her way to help an elderly patient who had fallen on the day of her scheduled elective surgery. The patient was efficiently taken care of so that her surgery would not be postponed. Kate is a gem for all of us.
