Kathy has been in critical care nursing for close to 30 years and continues to find great rewards and satisfaction in caring for critically ill patients. She possesses a valuable wealth of knowledge that she eagerly shares with her team and her patients.
Last winter, 3 South experienced an influx of new nurses that required considerable education and support. Kathy eagerly took on the challenge of becoming a bedside resource and provided hands on training to help with the development of their skills and abilities to care for a complex population. 3 South experienced great results and Kathy was asked to share her knowledge and training abilities with the other intensive care units within SSM St. Louis. She partnered with education and developed a cardiovascular training program that will be shared with the other facilities. Her hard work and dedication are worthy of receiving the DAISY Award.
