Kate continues to prove every day that she comes to work her dedication to patients, families, and co-workers. Kate is always willing to help out the staff and is an asset to our team when dealing with critical patients. She is an excellent teacher to nursing students and new hires that come into our department.

One specific incident that demonstrated her dedication was when she had two patients who came in together and did not speak any English at all. Kate had to repeatedly use the MARTTI to ensure the patients understood their plan of care. Upon discharge, the patient was given a prescription. The patient was unsure how they were going to pay for it and how they were going to get it since they could not speak English. Kate was kind enough to wheel them to the outpatient pharmacy with the MARTTI on wheels to ensure the patients could speak with the pharmacy in order to get their prescriptions. She even was able to ask social work for a voucher in order to pay for the Rx. This is just one of many examples that Kate exemplifies commitment to her patients- even when it is difficult and time-consuming. We are truly blessed to have her on our team.
