On behalf of my father and our entire family, we would like to nominate Kate Galbavy, a nurse on Ackerman 3 for a DAISY Award. My father went into cardiac arrest at a holiday party and was brought to Community Medical Center and ultimately transferred to Jersey Shore Medical Center and Ackerman 3. His treatment by Nurse Kate Galbavy on Ackerman 3 went above and beyond. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be. She was kind, patient, and caring. She answered all of our questions and spoke to us clearly and with compassion. She treated my father with dignity and empathy and helped to ease a lot of our fears. She made my father smile and laugh, which, in such a scary time, meant the world to us. Kate made sure the doctors followed up with us and explained everything to us clearly. She truly is an angel on Earth. She deserves all the accolades that can be afforded to her. She will never be forgotten by our family during one of the scariest moments of all our lives. Please bestow onto her the DAISY Award in honor of the care, compassion, and treatment she provided to my father. Thank you
