I was admitted to the hospital for acute pancreatitis. A 31-year-old healthy female, this genetic illness was a huge shock. Due to complications, my hospital stay turned into 12 days. I had great care day and night from all the nurses but when nurse Katie walked in, my family and I felt a special level of care. She took the time to really listen and explain what was happening. Not only feel like my care was my number one priority, I felt like she was a constant advocate for me and my healing process. In addition, she brought comfort to my parents and my fiancé during this scary and difficult time. Nurse Katie epitomizes a DAISY Nurse and we want her to know how special she is.
