For every scheduled clinical shift, Kathryn took the initiative to accomplish three important things each and every day...one for herself, one for the staff, and one for patients.
Throughout her many clinical rotations at Trinity College, Kathryn has exhibited clinical leadership and excellence. For her final clinical rotation, Kathryn had the opportunity to complete her preceptorship with the UnityPoint Infusion Center. She exceeded the expectation that faculty and staff had of her in the student role by demonstrating a high level of engagement in learning through her preparedness for practice, spirit of inquiry, excellent communication, and utilization of her past personal, professional, and academic experiences to enhance patient outcomes. For every scheduled clinical shift, Kathryn took the initiative to accomplish three important things each and every day...one for herself, one for the staff, and one for patients. For herself, she came away having learned something new to expand her nursing knowledge/skill. For others, she looked for opportunities to help where needed, lightening the load for staff making for a healthier work environment. For patients and their families, Kathryn did so much. She listened, she cared, she comforted, she improved outcomes and she made a difference.
