Within the first few hours of her shift, my BP dropped and the baby's heart rate decreased. Kathryn was in the room immediately attending to my needs while discussing my care with the physician. She reassured me and my husband and took specific measures to ensure my child and I's safety.

This was all a whirlwind but the thing I most remember is Kathryn being by my side and letting me know that everything was going to be okay while the doctor discussed possibly performing an emergency c-section. Luckily with the help of Kathryn and the rest of the care team, my baby and I stabilized and I was able to deliver him without a c-section. Kathryn then followed me to recovery and was with me until her shift ended.

Kathryn is a true example of a nurse going above and beyond to ensure compassionate care and safe practices are given to her patients. Her explanation of everything she did and strong nursing skills turned a scary situation into a happy birth story.
