Kat is well known to her unit. Her co-workers describe her as being patient, flexible, and enthusiastic. Her upbeat personality and sense of humor can brighten anyone's day. When you ask around you'll soon find that everyone knows who Kat is. She stands out in a crowd and makes her presence known! I don't think there is one person that Kat can't make happy just by being around her. Her smile and energy are infectious. She is an excellent cheerleader and strives to maintain a positive atmosphere.
Kat's patients remember her care. She is attentive and remembers the "little things" which helps to personalize her care and make their hospital stay special. By the end of her shift, she is often on a first name basis with her patients and their family members because she takes the time to get to know them.
Kat was recognized as being an "angel" by one of her patients and they gave her an Angel to hang on her badge. Kat appreciated this gesture so much that she sat with the patient and asked her to teach her to make them. Since then, Kat has made them for her staff and uses them to recognize nurses for their exceptional care.
