Kat is so understanding and was able to make me feel welcomed into the hospital and helped me feel happier and see the positive outcome.
I would like to nominate, acknowledge, and thank nurse Kathryn for providing me extraordinary patient care, comfort and attention during my time of need. The fact that I’m home now exemplifies the entire CHLA health care team that helped saved my life. I caught COVID at the end of January and was admitted to CHLA in February. During those times I was scared for my life and was having a hard time because I had to drop my classes and had to deal with the fact that I was put in isolation. Even though I didn’t want to be in the hospital, Kat made being in the hospital bearable. She is so understanding and was able to make me feel welcomed into the hospital and helped me feel happier and see the positive outcome. She is so down to earth and made me want to become a nurse so I can give back to other kids that face similar challenges. She is definitely an inspiration and an amazing nurse to have by your side. When I was feeling my worst Kat made my day better. Besides hospital care, she was someone I can count on when I needed help or someone to talk to. As Amelia Earhart once said, “a single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees” (as I like to say, Daisies). Thank you, Kat, for helping me get home!!!
