Both my wife and I were so appreciative of Kathy's outstanding ability to handle multiple tasks, answer our questions, checking on my comfort continually.
A large red area with a dark center located on my upper left thigh brought me to the emergency room. While waiting to see the doctor, nurse Kathy Thole came to my room to check on me and review my health background and current situation. She also asked if there is anything my wife and I needed while waiting. Kathy followed up on our request and brought bottled water. Once I was seen by the doctor, Kathy returned to review the medication and what to look for, should my condition worsen. She then drew an ink mark around my bite/wound area. Taking time to explain the reason for doing the marking of the red area. During the 1 1/2 hours I was in the emergency room, under Kathy's care, she continually displayed professional and knowledgeable manner along with genuine care, warmth, and humor in her personality. A TRUE NURSE! The next day, my condition had gotten worse. We returned to the emergency room and the receptionist said she would have a nurse come out to us. Shortly, Kathy Thole was checking on me. She immediately said, you need a doctor, not a nurse! Immediately, we were led to a room in the emergency department by Kathy. Kathy began the process of taking vitals. Once the doctor's orders were given, she performed her duties with skill and a positive attitude. My diagnosis was severe sepsis, and I was given 2-3 antibiotics, each one given at different times and each at their own input rate. Both my wife and I were so appreciative of Kathy's outstanding ability to handle multiple tasks, answer our questions, checking on my comfort continually. Because of Kathy's excellent handling of my emergency care, my wife and I were assured I was in good hands. My wife and I sincerely thank Nurse Kathy Thole and are excited to share my story of this outstanding nurse!!
