I appreciated her professionalism, her reassuring attitude as well as her caring and empathetic nature. I consider myself a minor league expert on patient care due to many admissions at several hospitals. From the time I came into the ward to recover from anesthesia until discharge, Kathy was my nurse. She delivered care in such a heartfelt and supportive way that it seemed instinctive. I read recently that no one has succeeded in finding a universal definition of patient-centered care, but Kathy Bayang seems to be the personification of patient-centered care. She is an amazing asset using respect, dignity, information, sharing, participation, and collaboration.
