April 2014 Honoree
kathy bedau, RN
Kathy was nominated for her work with an elderly, confused couple by four of her nursing peers.
An elderly female patient was admitted to our facility. She and her husband were both confused. There was no family locally to help for the first few days due to bad weather conditions in another state. Kathy "went to extraordinary measures," "arranged for a reclining bed for the husband to sleep on next to his wife," "she exhibited extreme patience," "she made sure the family was comfortable when they arrived and involved in discharge planning," and "she gave exemplary compassion."

Thank you, Kathy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
