Kathy is far more than a Registered Case Manager. She is a relentless patient advocate, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and a team player. In the ED she is always the go-to person for our doctors and nurses. She accepts challenges with a sense of humor and determination. Kathy is creative and energetic as she solves complicated medical and social issues for ED patients. She is never dismissive, always with an open ear and broad smile. Kathy has a gentle, fun-spirited, genuine demeanor with all patients and family members. She has a tactful way of delivering facts, sometimes very difficult to hear, to family members and patients in distress in the ED. Kathy is a realist as she delivers a clear message to coworkers and patients, allowing no room for confusion. Kathy loves to reminisce about her days in nursing school and her many jobs in health care. She is incessant with her heart and mind at work - authentic and candid in a world often ambiguous and cold - There is no one we are more proud to honor than Kathy.
