Kathy was the first angel that Mom encountered on the worst night of her life. She is 89 years old and had just moved into assisted living with her husband of 70 years. On their first night, Mom fell getting out of bed and broke her hip. In his turmoil to summon help, Dad suffered a fatal heart attack.
Mom was brought to Sky Lakes and eventually to your floor. You were there with calm expertise, explaining procedures to my sister and me and answering many questions. As the next few nights progressed, we saw not only an expert professional giving physical care but a compassionate soul taking the time to address Mom's mental and spiritual states as well.
Either my sister or I spent each night in the room and I can still hear your soft steady voice talking to Mom in the night when you came to check her. Your manner was so reassuring and loving. Through her tears, through her fears, you were that nightly presence she cherished.
You are so fortunate to have Kathy, she is absolutely wonderful!
