I would like to recognize Kathleen "Kathy" Mahoney.
Kathy is a true example of the compassion and dedication that Florence Nightingale represented. Her commitment to nursing goes above and beyond expectations, and she consistently demonstrates what it truly means to care for others.
Kathy is an exceptionally caring nurse, not only in her professional role but also as a person outside of work. She treats every patient with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. Her nurturing nature allows patients to feel safe, supported, and truly cared for during some of their most vulnerable moments.
She is deeply respected and loved by her fellow nurses and the entire team. Kathy also brings a wonderful sense of humor to the workplace, which helps create a positive and supportive environment for both patients and colleagues.
Many patients have taken the time to write letters expressing their gratitude for Kathy and the care she provides. The heartfelt messages reflect the lasting impact she has on the lives of those she cares for.

"Hi. I had a procedure earlier this week at Beverly Hospital, an upper endoscopy. I did want to write to say that Kathy Mahoney (I purposely remembered her name for this) was one of the most caring nurses I have ever had. I had some trouble following the procedure, and she worried over me, asking others to check on me, passing all my info to the next nurse while continuing to reassure me that you all were looking out for me.

She has a remarkable ability to troubleshoot issues calmly and efficiently, and her positive "can-do" attitude reassures both patients and staff during busy or difficult shifts.
