I can say without hesitation that Kathy is one of the most caring and compassionate providers I know.
I believe nurses were created so that there would be angels on earth that could be seen, heard, and felt by all mankind. I believe when people were created, they were given the 5 senses- smell, taste, touch, hearing, and sight and these senses would be used by nurses. Nurses use four of these senses every time they enter a patient room. Nurses are taught early on that their “role” is to be the patient caregiver, advocate, educator, communicator, and manager.
Let me introduce you to one of these angels on earth, Kathy Simonton. As my daughter and I were escorted to the ER department, we saw a very busy environment but as we passed the nurses station it was like heaven, nursing staff appear to be like angels with happy smiles and nurturing attitudes. Most evidently, I witnessed Kathy introduce herself to my daughter and me immediately and communicated with utmost attention carefully observing my daughter’s symptoms and alleviating all our concerns. She cared for us passionately! Kathy made sure our environment was therapeutic and we were comfortable as possible. Her healing attitude contributed to the well-being of my daughter. I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most caring and compassionate providers I know. Her ability to connect with her patients quickly is very strong and her desire to make a difference in a patient's life is remarkable and like nothing, I have seen before.
Because of Kathy’s quick assessment of my daughter's vague symptoms, she was able to communicate quickly to the provider the severity of my daughter's condition. With a quick and diligent treatment plan, vital communication with ancillary team members, and a timely transfer of care, Kathy was responsible for the positive outcome of my daughter. I owe my gratitude to Kathy Simonton, “My Angel on Earth”.
