Kathy Szopinski, BSN, RN, has been a nurse at Children's for many years working in multiple areas from inpatient to triage to primary care. Her current role as the lead nurse at Mayfair Pediatrics exemplifies her leadership skills. She plays a key role in all the essential components of patient-centered medical home (PCMH) in addition to serving as the critical driver for all quality initiatives at her site. She is recognized by both staff and physicians as the expert in her field, responsible for all clinical components at Mayfair Pediatrics.
As a key member of the Primary Care Clinical Practice Council, Kathy demonstrates her passion for nursing. She participates in several work groups and is currently leading the Nurses' Week celebration planning committee. Kathy is an excellent role model for young nurses and truly leads by example in her daily work. She exhibits nursing excellence in all that she does.
