Two different patients nominated Kathy Tulachka for the DAISY Award.

One of Kathy’s patients stated, “Kathy is a very caring and compassionate nurse. She never seemed rushed and she took her time helping me with my bath, and she combed and braided my hair. She took me for a walk. She was well informed of my condition and allowed me to talk about how it affected my daughter.”

A different patient’s sister stated on her nomination about Kathy, “My sister was admitted to the fourth floor on Sunday. Kathy was her nurse on Sunday and Monday. She did an amazing job in helping my sister. In addition to doing the typical required duties, Kathy went above and beyond with my sister. Besides her inability to walk and her intense leg pain, my sister was also having severe, intense panic attacks. Kathy comforted my sister throughout her entire shift. She rubbed her back, contacted the clergy several times, arranged for pet therapy and even tried several aromatherapy scents. She was so calming and compassionate to my sister. Aurora is truly blessed to have her on their staff.”
