A previous Honoree, Katy continues to embody the DAISY qualities along with the MH values of patient-centeredness and respect. Her letters of nomination clearly demonstrate how Katy combines clinical expertise with kindness and compassion. A surgical patient shares her story of how Katy’s presence from admission to discharge impacted her profoundly, illustrating how nurses do not have to administer life-saving care to make a difference just simply share kindness, compassion and respect. Another patient shared how she instilled a feeling of trust and it is clear she loves her profession.
