I had a miscarriage which developed into hemorrhaging. I had an emergency medical transport straight into surgery. Afterward, I was coming out of anesthesia I overheard one of the actual doctors say something less than professional about my physical appearance. So upon meeting Katie I was disoriented, weak, and emotional. Let's just say I wasn't at my best and was kind of snappy. But she not only didn't take offense or treat me unkind but instead she validated my injured feelings and delivered the utmost care for me. I will admit her ability to look past my less than desirable personality quirks and still care for me in a truly genuine way was impressive. She even let me make my own decisions without belittling me or making me feel like a burden. I couldn't have asked for a more empathetic, compassionate, and altogether human as a nurse. Nurses like her are exceptional and I feel privileged to have been under her care. Thank you Katie from the very depths of my heart.
