Our daughter, R, was diagnosed with infant leukemia when she was 3 months old. Katie was our nurse our first night at Riley, the night of R's diagnosis. Katie made a lasting impression on our entire family during that extremely difficult first night. She helped get us through that difficult time. Soon after that first night, we asked her to be R's primary nurse. We wanted consistency for R as well as someone we could completely trust. Her expertise in the nursing field has far exceeded our expectations.
She has been there for us during very difficult and sad times. No matter how upset or frustrated we have been at different times throughout this journey, Katie has supported us and loved our daughter.
To say that Katie is a phenomenal nurse is an understatement. It is evident that being a nurse IS NOT just a job for her. She has so much compassion and kindness and she truly loves the children she cares for. We have witnessed Katie extend this love towards so many of the cancer patients and parents.
