Gender affirmation surgery can be a fraught process. Leading up to my top surgery in October of 2022, Katie smoothed my path and reduced my anxiety by quickly and expertly handling insurance and short-term disability communications. After my surgery, Katie has been a warm and responsive communicator, quelling my fears as I've experienced a host of minor issues with healing. I have a fear of infection compounded by having lost a relative to sepsis, and Katie has taken this into account in our discussions. She's reassuring and quick to offer help. Trans folks largely rely on word of mouth to know who is a trustworthy medical professional, and I will recommend my doctor and her team to anyone who asks because of this level of care. I know that the entire process of surgery and post-surgical recovery would be much more stressful and scarier if it weren't for Katie.
