Katie consistently demonstrates professional and ethical standards as defined in the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, as evidenced by her respect for others, commitment to our patients, and advocacy for the patients. She actively participates in our Workplace Violence Committee to ensure best practices, awareness, and education to prevent injuries and best outcomes. Katie recently participated in an FMEA for the safety of our patients and staff when caring for our behavioral health population. She was able to provide valuable input that will lead to change and ensure better care for our patients without incident. She is always professional and respectful in her interactions, with quality and patient safety as her priority. Katie advocates for safety in her department daily and collaborates with other leaders to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for our patients and our staff are safe. Her work with our EMS partners promotes health and improves our community. As an active leader in our Magnet council, Katie endorses and encourages the nursing profession and the advancement of our nurses. She is an asset to our leadership team at Southeast.
