The hands that took care of her in the end were amazing. The whole team at Bellin ICU and Cardiology Associates were second to none. But as luck would have it for my mom or me, there was an extra angel. With all the personnel around, Katie was that angel. For three straight days I saw her glow come in to help Mom, doing things that many people can't or couldn't. She kept her dignity intact while Mom left us for a better place, and for that I will always remember Katie and her stories about home. When I hear the old country music, by the lake, I think of her.
