Katie Hansen, RN

I was admitted to the hospital with HELLP syndrome. I was 35 weeks pregnant with twin girls and ended up having a C-section, D&C, and unplanned hysterectomy. I lost a lot of blood and was in ICU before being transferred to Mother Baby. On Friday night, I was not feeling well, dizzy with a headache. Katie contacted the doctor on call and he suggested her to run a lab and run an IV fluid bag. I’m not sure why but, from the moment she walked in, I just started crying non-stop; processing everything that had happened in the past few days. I was also upset that I would miss feeding the babies in the NICU due to having the IV. Katie, being so kind, grabbed a wheelchair, connected me to the IV, and rolled me with my husband to the NICU. On the way, Katie helped to comfort me and reassure me that everything was fine. She took care of me for 3 nights and was always professional and very kind. Norton Women’s and Children’s is lucky to have Katie on staff!!
