Katie Jobs has been and continues to be our "Go-To-Contact" and Greatest Resource within the VA Home Telehealth Program.
I am an 82-year-old male and Disabled Army Veteran, diagnosed with Diabetes II, Congestive Heart Failure and COPD.
We first met Katie when I initially received the Home Telehealth equipment about 3 years ago. From that moment to the present day, Katie has become not merely our primary contact within the Home Telehealth Program, but also, is a trusted advisor to whom we call upon regarding any and all concerns for my health and well-being.
My wife and I have the utmost confidence in Katie. First, whether she calls me regarding a matter of concern with my daily vitals, etc., or that I call her with a concern of my own, she is attentive, discerning, knowledgeable, and unfailingly helpful to my wife and I about what is happening with me at the time. She has never failed to provide us with wise counsel and helpful information to resolve any of our concerns. Whatever the circumstances, Katie is empathetic, encouraging and informative; her calm positivity is truly uplifting and more than a little inspiring.
There are a couple of times during the year when it's on her agenda to speak with the patient's caregiver, which is one of many times that my wife will speak with Katie on a personal level. These conversations generally touch upon my wife's concerns for me, as we deal with my health day-to-day, but also, how my wife is faring with her own needs as my caregiver.
My wife says: "Katie is wonderful. She has become a dear and special friend to us. She is a friend to us, one we know we can trust and speak to with complete openness and confidence. She cares about my husband. He is not just one of the many patients she must deal with on any given day. She truly cares! And this speaks volumes! Katie senses my fears and addresses them so that I don't need to feel guilty and incompetent and at the same time, she's provided me with several resources within the VA who will assist me, should I feel the need to have such assistance in the future. And something that has touched my heart the most is that Katie sincerely honors and respects my husband, and I believe, she truly honors and respects each one of the patients in her care. Katie Jobs is simply a treasure - a rare and lovely gift to us, and to you (her employer) and to whoever she meets in her life's journey. We are supremely blessed and deeply grateful to have her in our lives."
