Katie is an amazing, caring nurse. I was induced with my second child, and she was my nurse during my active labor phase as well as post-partum. I thought I wouldn't be as scared with a second child, and was surprised and a little embarrassed when I was just as anxious. I was admitted in the evening and by morning, I still had not progressed as I had hoped. I felt incredibly disappointed. Katie was very compassionate and understanding. She worked to help make my labor as comfortable as possible offering juice and the birthing ball - two small things that instantly improved my mood and outlook! When my husband stepped out to grab some food, she held my hand without my asking as I underwent an examination. She was so intuitive and incredibly compassionate. I'll never forget how calm and professional Katie was when I underwent a manual cephalic version. I was so scared I was shaking uncontrollably. I felt out of control and vulnerable. She validated and understood my feelings, something that meant more than words to me. She was attentive to my needs and did everything she could to make me comfortable and calm through my labor as well as my delivery. This was so incredibly important to me. During my post-partum time, Katie created a healing, restful environment for my baby and me. She was professional and maintained confidentiality, which was also very important since I am also an employee. When my own mother came to visit, I couldn't wait to have her meet Nurse Katie. My husband and I will remember Nurse Katie for the rest of our lives.
