Our baby was born large and was admitted to the integrated care NICU one night. He wasn't like the other small babies- we were dealing with low blood sugar levels and dropping oxygen levels as our son wasn't used to working hard to be fed.
In the integrated care NICU it was great to be next to my baby. Our son's oxygen levels kept dropping and Katie helped us figure out why. Katie also quickly identified that he wasn't getting enough milk. She recommended we make a change in the type of bottle we were using. We tried it that night, and our son immediately started drinking enough for his requirements, so they discontinued his feeding tube. Katie was an angel that went above and beyond.
When you're in the NICU things are extra stressful and it was so comforting to know that she was taking extra care to make sure our baby was getting better. We are so thankful for her thoughtfulness and care/compassion and she's the reason we were able to get out of the hospital sooner than later. She is a true DAISY Nurse for her good heart and compassionate soul. She was the Best nurse. We are grateful for her!
