Katie McKay, RN, BSN
Katie McKay has got to be the best nurse we have ever seen in our lives! Kind, funny, and knowledgeable! Amazing with family and putting us all in a good space. She went above and beyond at work with the IV insertion, kindness, and her assessment skills! Katie, we loved you!
We were visiting the area when my wife became ill. We were transported via EMS to Saint Anthony Summit Hospital.
We were greeted by Katie as we entered the treatment room. She is professional, kind, communicates very well, and right away was very reassuring..
Throughout the time that we were there, she checked with us every 15 minutes if not less.
She explained what was going on, what tests were being taken, why they were being taken, and made sure we were informed.
We both feel very blessed to have Katie giving care to us.
Thank you, Katie; you’re a wonderful nurse, and even a better person.

Katie received several cards and comments from several different patients and co-workers:
I visited the emergency room with chest pain. The small attention to detail, acts of kindness, and compassion she showed me made me feel cared for and safe in her care. Additionally, her extraordinary skill was evident as she took my blood and set me up with an IV, which is often a challenging task for others.

My wife was in the ER and Katie was her nurse. Her use of humor and kindness helped my wife feel more comfortable and relaxed during a difficult situation.

Katie went above and beyond today as charge, helping expedite the discharge of patients and ensuring comfort/experience of patients in the department
