Katie works as charge nurse often and does an amazing job.  She looks through all patients' orders ensuring things do not get overlooked.  She checks on PTT labs, audits charts and is always around to help.  Katie answers call bells, helps with patient care and helps keep this unit’s boat afloat!

Katie goes above and beyond for all staff on this unit.  Anytime there is an issue, she is right by your side, helping you through it, step by step.  Even with a full plate, she shows up with a smile.  Katie is a perfect example of a DAISY Nurse.  She performs teamwork, respect, and friendship every day.  This unit is so lucky to have such a caring nurse/charge nurse.

When I have Katie as charge nurse or even as a co-worker on the floor, the day almost instantly gets better!  Katie is knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive.  I have, on many occasions, sought her out for advice, guidance, and comfort.  Katie is one of those nurses everyone trusts and respects.  Not only does she have an incredible skill set, she readily has or knows the policies for safe patient care.  When this Katie as charge nurse, the entire floor feels supported.  She helps with med passes, covering lunches, and patient care and is a listening ear when we need it.  I would trust her with my life.
