This is actually the 2nd time my father was lucky enough to have Katie as his nurse. His first encounter was an admission post whipple procedure last year, and being a nurse myself, I am critical about the care he receives. Her effortless abilities to make a patient feel safe and well cared for, needs recognition. Her kind words and the time she spent trying to alleviate my father's apprehension was very appreciated. She has a great sense of humor and she was very informative, as she answered our questions promptly. Katie's knowledge and clinical abilities were apparent, but the reason for this nomination was because she treated my father like he was family.
